Frequently Asked Questions

What is Eczema?

Eczema is more common than you may think. Many people have it and are looking for treatment solutions that help to manage and reduce symptoms. It’s a skin condition and type of dermatitis and skin problem that causes dryness, redness, and itchiness. As you may assume, it can be extremely frustrating and irritating when it’s at its peak. Many elements may cause your skin to overreact and flare up, such as stress, skincare products, detergents, and animals, to name a few.

Is Eczema contagious?

It’s not contagious and is solely cosmetic as long as you’re not always itching your skin and making it worse. While eczema doesn’t spread from person to person, it can spread to various parts of the body (for example, the face, cheeks, and the neck, wrist, knees, and elbows). Scratching the skin can make eczema worse. The challenging part is that eczema can cause you to want to itch and scratch your skin, but this can lead to more problems. Therefore, you need to use an eczema cream and an eczema treatment that actually works.

What does Eczema look like?

The appearance of eczema can vary from mild forms, when skin looks dry and flaky, to severe forms, when skin can be extremely irritated and red. The most severe types of eczema can make your skin crack and ooze. Other times, it will feel itchy, and scratching leads to a red rash or leathery skin.

What can I use on my Eczema to help symptoms?

At Grahams Naturals we have created a products that can soothe and nourish the skin.  C+ Eczema Cream will help to relieve symptoms and hydrate without causing irritation.

What is Psoriasis and what does it look like?

Psoriasis is an over production and build-up of skin cells. It is risen, scaly, red patches, and causes the skin to itch. Stress is a common trigger for a psoriasis flare.

What can I do to help my Psoriasis?

There is no cure for psoriasis, but you can manage symptoms. Lifestyle measures, such as moisturising, quitting smoking and managing stress may help.

Grahams Psoriasis cream was formulated to help improve the condition of the skin by providing natural ingredients that enables the skin to retain moisture more effectively, thus soothing, smoothing and hydrating the skin.

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is one of the most common skin problems today. A chronic, inflammatory skin condition that affects the blood vessels, Rosacea most commonly occurs on the face and appears in the form of reddened skin.

What can I use to help my Rosacea?

We have developed a naturally hydrating product with skin friendly ingredients to help to calm, cool and soothe the skin affected by Rosacea. Our Rosacea Cream is best kept in the fridge so when you have a flare, it is calming and soothing on the skin. Leave on the skin as a mask for 20 minutes then wash off. This will calm down the capillaries and minimise the redness.  Use as a daily moisturiser or night cream for ongoing care and treatment.

What factors may make my child's eczema worse?

Heat, letting the skin get dry and prickle can aggravate eczema. Keep your child cool, apply plenty of moisturiser and dress them in loose, light cotton or bamboo clothing and blankets.

How can I help to relieve my child's symptoms?

Take a two step approach using our products to aid mild Eczema symptoms -

Step One -Bath (tepid water) in Grahams Eczema Body & Bath Oil. This helps to soothe and protect the skin. The oil can be continued to be applied throughout the day if required.

Step Two - Apply the Graham Baby Eczema Cream to the areas that are red and inflamed. This will help with the redness and control any inflammation on the skin.

What factors may make skin dry?

Water, air-blowing heaters, cleaning agents, soap, swimming and the environment can all be drying to your child’s skin.

Are your products tested on animals?

Absolutely not! We love testing our new products on ourselves first.

Are all ingredients listed on the packaging?

YES! Grahams Natural takes pride in our formulations and want to share this with our customers. As many of our customers have allergies or sensitive skin, we want you know EXACTLY what you are putting on your skin. Therapeutic Products (Aust L) actually have no requirement to list all of their ingredients, our regulations are one step above this (Class I Medical Device) and we want to share these great natural ingredients with you!

How should products be stored and do they expire?

All Grahams Natural Therapeutic products for Adults and Baby have a shelf life of 36 months if stored under 30 degrees, away from sunlight. Grahams Natural Body & Hair Care that do not have a stamped expiry date are minimum 24 months once opened.

What is a Class I Medical Device?

A Class l Medical Device is a worldwide recognition of our products ingredients, meaning that all of the ingredients must have scientific and clinical data that is proven to assist in the management of the condition.

Some companies use 1 or 2 active ingredients, but we use a ‘football team’ full of ingredients that all have a part to play in making a product work on the condition that we are claiming ie: Eczema.  This gives you piece of mind that the product you are using has clinical evidence behind it.

Do you use any fragrance in your baby products?

We do not use any fragrance in our baby eczema products, instead we choose to use Vanilla Planfloria. This is a food grade vanilla extract that gives off a gentle vanilla scent without any side effects that come from typical fragrances.

Rosacea is one of the most common skin problems today. A chronic, inflammatory skin condition that affects the blood vessels, Rosacea most commonly occurs on the face and appears in the form of reddened skin. Rosacea is often confused with acne, eczema or a skin allergy. It is important to seek diagnosis if you suspect you may have rosacea.

There are a range of symptoms of this skin condition, the most common being the altering of skin colour. Typically skin will appear red and while it can occur anywhere, it’s most commonly found on the forehead, nose and cheeks. In addition to red patches, people with rosacea may also experience flushed skin on the neck, chest, scalp and ears.

I have extremely sensitive skin, will I react to any Grahams Natural products?

Everybody is different and what works for some will not for others. Some people have allergies to natural ingredients. At Grahams Natural, we believe for most people, natural ingredients are better. As with all natural products, we do suggest you patch test first to ensure no reactions.

I am allergic to oats, what products are safe for use?

The only product that you may want to avoid is our Baby Eczema Cream, we use Oatmeal for its anti-inflammatory properties.

I am a coeliac, what products do I need to avoid?

We haven't had tests done to be classified as 'Gluten Free' however none of our products contain any ingredients that contains gluten so we believe we are gluten free. We always urge everyone to patch test before use to ensure no reaction to any of the natural ingredients is going to occur.

My child has a nut allergy. Do I need to use nut-free skin care products?

Most allergies to nuts are triggered by nut proteins, not nut oils. But when it comes to allergic reactions many people choose to be extra cautious and avoid anything made with nut oils as well. For that reason we made the entire Baby range including our Baby Eczema Cream and Baby Eczema Body & Bath Oil Nut free to give parents of children with allergies peace of mind.

I have a number of allergies and sensitivities, can I try some samples before I buy?

Unfortunately it's not possible for us to send out samples to everyone, even though we would love to be able to do so! Stockists may have testers of certain products in store, so we recommend popping into your local supplier to see if they have what you are after. Keep in mind, we do also have a 100% customer satisfaction policy, so if you do happen to react or are unhappy with the product; you can return your product for a refund or exchange.

At Grahams Naturals we use a range of ingredients in our products. We believe that for most people, naturally hydrating ingredients are better, however, everybody responds differently to certain products. Therefore, to ensure you do not have an allergy to any of the natural ingredients that we use, we recommend performing a patch test first.

How do I perform a Patch Test?

Apply a pea-sized amount of product as close as possible to the most affected area and leave for 24 hours. If any sort of irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately. If you do not experience any irritation, you may go ahead and use as directed.
